  • Lined Blinds, Curtain Maker Near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Adding a lining to made to measure roman blinds helps protect the main curtain fabric, allows roman blinds to hang well and of course is effective in filtering light. There are several options for lined roman blinds, it really depends on exactly what you are looking for, the room in which the blinds hang and to a certain extent on the weight of the curtain fabric.

Cotton Lined Blinds

Cotton lining will protect your blinds from the effects of sun and dirt. They also help blinds to hang well. We stock cotton lining in ivory and white but can also obtain other colours if required.

Thermal Lined Blinds

If you need to keep draughts and cold out and would like to save on the fuel bills by reducing energy loss, then thermal lined blinds are recommended. Despite their heat saving qualities, thermal lining is only marginally thicker than cotton lining and will allow roman blinds to hang just as well. We stock thermal lining in ivory.

Blackout Lined Blinds

Blackout lined roman blinds have the same insulation qualities as thermal lined blinds but have an additional acrylic layer which is highly effective in blocking out light. Blackout lining is most commonly used for bedroom curtains where you want to keep out as much light as possible. Especially good for young children's rooms in the summer! Again I have blackout lining in ivory.

Interlined Blinds

For maximum thermal insulation and therefore energy saving, go for interlining as well as thermal lining, or inter-lining with cotton lining. Interlining is a fleecy fabric which is sandwiched between the roman blind and lining fabric. For blinds I would recommend a medium weight interlining. It really does make a difference with windows where there may be drafts or a lot of noise. I also stock interlining.
